JGH call for 'Arenas in Global History'
The Journal of Global History is accepting expressions of interest for its peer-reviewed ‘Arenas in Global History’. 'Arenas in Global History’ offers an opportunity for scholars to present and debate key issues in the study of global history. Arenas may address themes, actors, debates, or methods. They usually take the form of a position paper, a series of rejoinders, and closing remarks (in total, c. 20,000 words), though this format is flexible, and alternatives may be suggested. In particular, we welcome ‘Arenas’ that offer examples of alternative ways of writing global history (for example, collaborative projects). Proposals from scholars at all career stages are welcome. An expression of interest should include the following:
- A description (1,500 words max.) of the Arena’s topic and why it needs (re)evaluation in the study of global history.
- Proposed format
- A list of potential contributors: Diversity across institutions, geography, gender, age, ethnicity, and academic experience is highly encouraged, and JGH’s editors will help facilitate additional collaborations.
- Timeline for completion
Expressions of Interest are due by 15 April to jgh@tufts.edu.
