The Press at the 2019 Frankfurt Book Fair
Cambridge University Press is delighted to be attending the Frankfurt Book Fair from 16 - 20 October 2019. Held every October, the Frankfurt Book Fair, also known as Frankfurter Buchmesse, is the largest trade book fair in the world. Media professionals, authors and publishers come from all over the world to showcase their works, hold discussions, learn from others and build networks.
This year, you can find the Press’s stand at E10 in Hall 4.2. Come along to find out more about the Press’s products and services. We have also organised a number of talks and seminars which you can find out more about below:
On Wednesday, 16 October at 1:30-2:00 pm, two Press colleagues, Michael Watson (Executive Publisher, History & Academic) and Andy Woodfield (Head of Brand Communications), together with the Director of Sound Understanding, Cresta Norris, will deliver a presentation titled ‘A New Voice in Academic Publishing: The Challenges and Opportunities of Audiobooks for a University Press’ at the Frankfurt Audio Stage, Hall 3.1.
The Press’s Publishing Development Director, Phil Meyler, and the series editor of Elements in the Philosophy of Religion, Yujin Nagasawa, will discuss ‘Cambridge Elements: a new concept in academic publishing’ on Thursday, 17 October, 10:00-10:30 am at the Academic & Business Information Stage, Hall 4.2.
Finally, on Saturday, 19 October at 1:30-2:00 pm, Ben Knight, Director for Language Research at the Press will speak at the Academic & Business Information Stage, Hall 4.2. His presentation is titled ‘Educating the International Citizens of the Future – How English Teaching is evolving to impart more than just the language’.
We will also be profiling our key Academic Trade titles and audiobooks on the stand including There is No Planet-B, Crack and High Crimes and Misdemeanors.
